Rubus idaeus is a perennial shrub that naturally grows in Asia and Europe but has since spread to temperate regions worldwide, including North American woodlands. In addition to its fruit, the plant’s leaves are also gathered for consumption.

Raspberry leaves are commonly brewed into tea, either on their own or blended with other herbs.
